With his Biosphere Project, Joaquín Fargas is traveling around the world already for 15 years.
The Biosphere project consists of isolating natural ecosystems in totally sealed containers where the only interaction with the environment is through heat and light. These systems, similar to our own planet, depend on solar light as a source of energy so that the life cycles develop within them and last as a function of multiple variables. These biospheres represent our planet on an infinitesimal scale, showing its fragility and the care that all of us, who inhabit the Earth, owe it.
The Biosphere exposition in Augsburg includes a preparing workshop together with members of Manos Verdes Deutschland e.V. in order to fill these biospheres to be exposed with water and plants from local water resources in Augsburg, referring to Augsburg as „Environmental City“ and site of the UNESCO World Heritage.
